Planning a King Arthur Hotel wedding is always a magical experience, and I’ve been fortunate enough to capture many beautiful days there since I started as a King Arthur Hotel Wedding Photographer.
King Arthur Hotel boasts the gorgeous oak beamed Avalon Suite, where it hosts civil ceremonies before being transformed into a stunning fairy-light lit reception room.
On site, they offer a range of accommodation options so that you and your guests have somewhere perfect to stay, as well as somewhere photogenic to get ready on the morning of your wedding.
Formal photos are always a breeze at a King Arthur Hotel wedding. Group photos can be taken with ease in their gardens and courtyard, and there is also the ability for an aerial group shot. The courtyard and upper gardens are right outside Avalon and have plenty of seating available, so any guests with walking difficulties will still be able to join photos with ease.
The lower gardens and meadow are accessed by stone steps, and are ideal for formal photos of the couple, with bridesmaids and groomsmen often joining for a few photos. During the day, we can walk through the gardens and around the lake to take some stunning natural photos; the meadow is absolutely perfect for gorgeous golden sunset photos, and after nightfall we make use of the fairy lights and festoon set up in the gardens.
For those couples looking to go off-site for photos, there are several locations nearby that are well loved by brides and grooms. If you are looking for a beach location, Oxwich Bay is the closest and easiest to get to. Cefn Bryn and Broadpool are always top choices, and only 5 minutes away. I highly recommend heading down here about 1.5-2 hours before sunset for the most gorgeous lighting. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to see some ponies, sheep or cows and they’re always happy to pose!
