Studio Vs Location Photography – What does it mean?

March 12, 2015

With the rush of wedding bookings finally calming down, I have some time to write this long awaited post! Lots of clients and potential clients alike ask me why I don’t have a studio, and how I work if I don’t have one.

I’ll admit that I would love a studio, and I dream of having a lovely little double fronted shop with my name upon the door and prints in the windows. At the moment, however, my business is thriving by offering my clients a service a little different to all the photography studios in Swansea.

Working at client’s homes or on location means that your photos are unique and personal to you. My work is not a ‘one size fits all’ with the same plain background and poses for every client. Your photos should reflect who you are and showcase your family in your own way.

Working with newborns and young babies, coming to you at your home means that parents and babies are more relaxed. It also gives us a great opportunity to discuss what you want to do with your photos, where you want to hang or display them so I can make sure you’re getting the products that are the best for you.

Working out and about also means that I can keep costs lower for you. Having a studio would mean having to increase my prices considerably.

Have I ruled out having a studio in the future? Definitely not! I still dream of that shop with the big comfy sofas where I can meet and chat to you all, but at the moment I think I’m happy enough being in a new place every day 🙂
