I was so excited to be able to jet off to Madrid last month to capture the moment Jadrien & Andy exchanged their vows. It was a beautiful wedding, unique to them and shared with some of their nearest and dearest, who had flown in from the United States and England especially for the day.
We started off the day at Jadrien’s parent’s apartment where there was laughter and a few tears as Jadrien and his family got ready.
Next, it was on to the ceremony location where Andy was getting ready, and his family were putting the final touches to the venue
The ceremony was held on a balcony overlooking the Royal Palace of Madrid – there is no location more perfect! The views were breathtaking, especially as the sun set behind the mountains in the distance
Following the ceremony, we headed to Sabatini Gardens, next to the Royal Palace, for a few quiet photos of the newlyweds
We met up with their family and friends to have formal photos taken at the Royal Palace gates (sidenote: some passing people thought that they were famous footballers and started taking photos over my shoulder with their phones – I guess you’re famous now, guys!)
For dinner and drinks, everyone made their way to Mercado San Miguel – a vintage indoor food market where you can get almost anything you can think of to eat and drink. If you visit Madrid, Mercado San Miguel is a must-see!
After everyone was full of delicious food (and wine!) we headed back to the ceremony venue to cut the cake, toast to the new grooms and celebrate. We also managed to sneak a few more portraits in the Palace grounds as the sun began to set
Congratulations again, Jadrien & Andy! You are both amazing and it was such an honour to capture your day!
