In July 2019 I was lucky enough to capture my very first wedding at the beautiful Tall John’s House, and I was absolutely blown away by how amazing this place is – it really is a photographer’s dream with so many little pockets of photo opportunities. Love love love!
The gardens at Tall John’s House are PERFECT for my trademark sunset portraits, and are just a stone’s throw away from the barn where you and your guests are partying, so no need to spend hours venturing off to different locations for stunning photographs of you and your new spouse. More time to party is always a good thing!
The barn itself is a blank canvas to be created just as you want it to. It’s bright, with ample space for everyone, and has a gorgeous little courtyard for lots of mingling with friends and family.
I cannot wait to book my next wedding at Tall John’s House, so if you’re planning yours head over to my wedding page to check on availability and get a price list! You can also check out the reception venue here
Bridal preparations took place at Lucy’s parent’s house, which was just a few minutes walk away from Christchurch in Govilon where their ceremony took place. Lucy, her dad and bridesmaids walked over, with lots of villagers ready to see her on her way as she walked through the village. We stopped off on a gorgeous little bride en route to the church for some photos, and for a few minutes of peace before the day really started.
The church ceremony was absolutely perfect. Lucy’s dad wonderfully juggled walking his daughter down the aisle, playing the organ, and accompanying a singer on the keyboard – talk about multi-tasking!
Following the ceremony, the guests showered them in confetti before we took a few photos outside the church gate, and then Lucy’s dad drove them off to Tall John’s House in his specially restored Triumph, complete with tin-cans! I’d never seen a wedding car with tin cans on before, and Lucy’s reaction was an absolute picture!
After a beautiful drive through the Brecon Beacons to reach their reception at Tall John’s House, the couple and their guests enjoyed drinks and canapés on the lawn before we started group photographs in front of the main house and in the gardens. Everyone sat down to enjoy a hog roast in the afternoon, followed by the biggest selection of desserts I’ve ever seen (oh the temptation!)
In the evening, we stole the happy couple away for 20 minutes to take some gorgeous couple’s portraits on site outside the house and in the gardens, before evening guests arrived and the evening kicked off with dancing, drinking and fancy dress
So without further ado, here are the gorgeous Lucy & Craig – Congratulations again both!
